Am I able to observe Shabbat while in treatment? Yes. While at Recovery Road, clients have the ability to observe Shabbat (if they choose). No scheduled treatment takes place during Shabbat. Can I go to Shul/Synagogue while in treatment? Yes. Our residence is within walking distance of a synagogue and clients are able to attend davening/services under the supervision of our staff. Am I able to keep Kosher while in treatment? Yes. All food provided at Recovery Road is certified Kosher. Breakfast is served at our treatment facility and pre-prepared meals are provided by a Glatt Kosher caterer for lunch and dinner. Clients are provided with a list of additional snacks and food items that they may order and this list only contains certified kosher items. Does any part of the program include interaction with a Rabbi? Yes. For clients that choose to participate, Recovery Road provides group spirituality sessions with our Spiritual Director, Rabbi Moshe Cheplowitz. Rabbi Cheplowitz spent many years in Yeshiva being trained in the understanding of the human psyche. He received his rabbinic ordination in 2007. Rabbi Cheplowitz’s caring; love and acceptance of people enable the clients in our program reach and find their higher power. |

At Recovery Road, we strive to ensure that we make all of the tools and resources available for our Jewish patients to observe and practice as they feel comfortable. We are very careful not to impose any religious practices or requirements so as not to upset the therapeutic process. We work closely with established and respected Rabbinical and Clincal authorities to establish the most productive and healthy balance of clinical success and religious observance.
